175w mercury open type fixture, on the typical NYC finned eliptical
utility pole arm. This mini run of 3 of them is in Bayside, on
220th or 219th Street, halfway between Northern Blvd and Crocheron
Park.As a kid, the naked mercury bulbs inserted in these fixtures looked like either tonsils, or a stuck out tongue to me. They also appeared to always be yawning to me. Today I think of them as looking like the scoopers you see in nut shops.  |
