The same Queens lot, where
I found a last surviving buglight, is mostly filled with Thomas
Betts 125's, a fixture not found on NYC's actual streets. This one seems to have made a friend, although I'm sure it would much rather go without the presents, that this friend is likely to leave in it's wake. The lot is wedged between Francis Lewis & Hollis Court Blvds and the Long Island Expwy. Francis Lewis is one of those strange roads that gets habitually referred to by it's given name alone, without the "boulevard". |
Nobody would ever say they
took "Queens", in reference to Queens Blvd. Conversely,
nobody ever says they took Francis Lewis Boulevard, unless they're
tourists. Maybe it's because of the long name. If it were Francis
Blvd, or Lewis Blvd, the tradition might have been different.Do you think the bird thinks about any of this? I wouldn't doubt it, after seeing experiments on bird intelligence on TV. Ever watch a seagull go clamming? They are not birds to fool with. |
