GE F400 Clamshell in Queens Parking Lot
Photo Gallery Streetlights

This buglight still survives in a Waldbaums supermarket parking lot, off Francis Lewis Blvd. and the Long Island Exp. It is not lit up anymore and would probably be gone already, if it wasn't in a mostly deserted back end of the lot.
This model, which I believed was a Revere, but was identified by David DeSantis as a GE Form 400, was never used on NYC streets to my knowledge, but was quite prolific on the suburban highways, like the Thruway. Along with the similar Westinghouse OV20, you can still find these in strong numbers in Philadephia.
There's actually a 2nd bug in the lot, but it's missing the glass that gives it it's personality, on top of no longer working.
Another shopping strip about 10 blocks down Francis Lewis has a run of these and they all work.
