| View of the last surviving twinmasted snake poles at JFK Airport, in front of the TWA terminal. This was taken January 1998. Ironically, on an outer section of the Van Wyck Expwy, leading out of the Airport, where the poles were always standard trussarm types, a new generation of leaning snake twins has sprung up. The new breed are more vertical and stiff looking, but the resemblance is unmistakable. "What comes around goes around" never ceases to be relevant, where NYC streetlights are concerned. |
