Weird "HiFi Needle" Light from Hartsdale NYWhat dah heck is this? I'm depending on the luminaire luminaries to identify this rarity for me. It most closely resembles the old GE Form 79RV. It probably dates from the mid 50's and hangs off a modern eliptical arm, just off NY Route 100 in Hartsdale, NY. I forget the name of the street, but it's sandwiched between a Mobil station and the Service Merchandise mall.
Those who know me, know I can't deal with a luminaire unless I can nickname it, but oh, what in the world to call this? Phonograph needle? Plumb Bob (ignoring the side mount)? A Top? Too many people wouldn't identify with a plumb bob and, with the side mount, it just don't cut it as a top or a bob. So hifi needle it is!
