 This is one of at
least two types of crescent moon shaped incandescent fixtures,
that remain a strong presence in Ardsley, NY. These 'Moons had
a three-piece reflector, giving them the appearance of the classic
Sherlock Holmes detective hats. They are also commonly referred
to as Admiral hats by other light enthusiasts. The second type of 'Moon in Ardsley, has a one-piece reflector resembling a bird claw. That's the 'Moon that used to glow over outerborough NYC side streets. |
